Extermination Methods

What we do

Alternatives to Fumigation

When tent fumigation is not necessary or unwanted we may have alternatives depending on infestation, location, and structure.

Use of Termidor for Drywood Termites

Termidor is used as liquid bait for drywood termites attacking your building. Termidor’s transfer effect allows the bait to be transferred from one termite to the next as they touch. The active ingredient (Fipronil) has been more exhaustively tested than any termiticide in history. Fipronil is found in flea and tick products for animals. We offer a two-year guarantee, and a complimentary one-year re-inspection upon request, and after the initial guarantee expires we offer a maintenance program called Annual Control Service.

Use of Bora-Care for Drywood Termites

When drywood termite are found in exposed wood we recommend applying Bora-Care® directly to the exposed wood. It serves as a powerful effective preventative, and primary termite treatment. Bora-care is a low-toxicity concentrate, a wood preservative that has a low environmental impact. It penetrates the wood and remains there providing residual protection. The active ingredient is borate salt. Borates salts work by taking advantage of a unique feature in the biology of termites. If ingested termites become unable to extract nutrition from its food and starve to death.  Because of this unique mode of action termites cannot develop resistance. As soon as termites attempt to consume treated wood they die. Bora-Care's active ingredient is a natural mineral salt called Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate or DOT, which contains the element boron. Boron is an element chemical symbol B on the periodic table that is already present in the environment not only in the ecosystems outside homes but also in many of the products used inside such as soaps and cosmetics. Boron is also found in many of the vegetables we eat. Bora-Care simply eliminates wood as a food source.

Use of Termidor for Subterranean Termites

Termidor is used to create an invisible band of soil that promises excellent control of subterranean termites attacking buildings. Termidor bonds to the soil so there is no fear of leaching through rainfall and irrigation. We offer a two-year guarantee, a complimentary one-year re-inspection, and an extended maintenance program when the initial guarantee expires.

Use of Termidor for Ants

Termidor is sprayed on the ant colonies on the exterior perimeter of structures. When ants contact Termidor they carry it on their bodies and pass it on to ants they come in contact with, this process will continue throughout the nest. Termidor will reach the ants indoors too. It may take up to four weeks to eliminate all of them. We offer a one-year guarantee with ant treatments.

Use of Orange Oil for Termites

The Owners of Excellent Fumigation are the original developers and the first to label, patent, and use Orange Oil for killing termites on exposed wood.  Orange Oil has its restrictions; it can only be used on exposed wood in out-of-the-way places like attics, garages, and sub-areas, as it has a very strong fragrance and it is oil that stains areas that are treated. Guarantees vary on a case-by-case basis due to a variety of methods that are generally used in combination with Orange Oil to reach the most effective outcome.
